Ways to Prevent Acne

You know the old adage “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”, when it comes to acne, it still holds true. The best way to not have acne is to prevent acne from starting up. How? You ask! Follow these simple acne prevention tips and techniques.

Steps

  1. Be sure to wash your face with a mild facial scrub such as, freeman facial scrub, as regularly as desired. This moisturizing facial scrub helps clear away dry dull skin cells that make for a dull looking complexion. You can use a facial scrub which has a cooling effect. For men, you can use this facial product as your shaving agent. Wash the face with light strokes, just like applying lotion on your skin. Don't stretch! Massage once a week to loosen dirt and impurities from your skin.
  1. Use a mild facial toner. You can buy a product with Zeroil which is a good oil controlling agent and papaya extract, any whitening content to prevent dark spots or Hydrogen Peroxide 3% solution. Hydrogen Peroxide is not drying and it kills bacteria. Don't rub! Just pat or wipe the cotton upwards and outwards.
  1. Take supplementary in-takes such as Vitamin E, or GrapeSeed Extract. They are good anti-oxidants which contribute to skin rejuvenation. This can prevent scarring. Doxycyline is also good. As an antibiotic it lessens the protein in the bacteria, and stops pimples from multiplying.
  1. If you notice greasiness on the surface of your face, you can use a piece of clean plain paper to remove the oil. Don't rub, just blot the oily portion of your face. This will also prevent your foundation from caking. You don't want to attract bacteria to feed on your oily face.
  1. Use an oil-free sunscreen, even if not exposed to sun. UV rays are everywhere.

Tips to Prevent Acne

  • For a blackhead or whitehead, you can use a comedo-remover. Steam your face with water and salt. Then if the blackheads are ready to come out, squeeze them gently. Don't put too much pressure on it. Then apply a clay mask. You can use a spoon for practicality. Dip the spoon in an ice filled container and wipe quickly on a clean towel, then press the convex part of the spoon on the portion of the face you have just cleaned. It's refreshingly cold.
  • If a pimple appears, or a cyst has been disturbing you, you can use a spoon again. Dip it in boiled water with salt, and wipe quickly on a clean towel then put on the pimple or acne if the heat is tolerable enough. You can do it for a about 15-30 minutes, doing same routine repeatedly.
  • Sleep in a normal position; lying down, the gravity can affect the elasticity of the skin. Allow your skin to be pulled by the gravity outwards.
  • Oily skin can cause the face to sag. You can use a medi-plaster (bandage) to tape your face outwards before sleeping. You can also tape some wrinkles to somehow stretch and remold the skin. Leave the tape on while sleeping.
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water.
  • Drink Milk. You can buy a fiber-based milk for better digestion. There is a fiber powder that can be bought in the market. Just mix it in your fave beverage. According to the Chinese, pimples and acne (esp. the ones in the jawline) can somehow be caused by poor digestion. Yogurt will do.
  • Live a clean life. You can smoke, but drink honey and wash your face after. You can drink alcohol, but be sure to take supplements for your liver. Just prevent having colds, coughs and other viral disease.
  • Use non-acnegenic or non-comedogenic makeup.
  • When retouching, use an oil blotting paper (oil film or a clean plain paper) to remove the excess oil and shine from the skin. Then apply loose powder on the face using a clean powder brush. Be sure it's YOUR own brush and powder. I don't recommend powder puffs or sponges. The friction when your use them on your skin spreads bacteria.
  • Use an antibacterial body acne combo to prevent acne

Warnings

  • Don't touch your face habitually, it could spread the bacteria to other parts of your face; which can lead to promote instead of prevent acne.
  • Don't think about always popping a pimple. Do it if necessary. You can use a hot spoon at the sides of the pimple to bring the pus out, then slowly apply pressure to the sides using your fingers wrapped in clean tissue paper. Then use the "cold spoon" treatment.
  • Don't panic if another pimple pops up. Panicking may cause another pimple to appear.
