Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, but babies can be extremely irritated and grumpy when experiencing baby acne. I mean they might not be able to tell you in words, but I guarantee you will hear about it. Baby Acne is not uncommon. It occurs in babies between the ages of anywhere from two weeks old to four or five month of age. However, it is not persistent, instead it is intermittent meaning you will see it come and go. The cause of baby acne has been linked to the maternal hormones which are passed on to the baby from the mother through the placenta. As a result, these hormones lead to secretion of old in the baby’s skin and thus causing baby acne.

Use soft cloth and mild soap for cleaning, be gentle, do not rub and grind. Also since babies have much softer skin than adults, use separate laundry detergents to wash you child cloths. Using adult laundry detergents can cause your babies skin to become more irritable. As a mother of two children, I remember running to the pediatrician as soon as i noticed any signs of baby acne or rash. However, she provided no magic answers, instead simply told me to wait and let nature run its course. It is only a matter of time before the oil glands subside and your baby’s acne is gone.
