Acne Tips and Cheap Acne Medicine Solutions

While there are many very good commercial acne treatment products in the marketplace, there are just as many, if not more, cheap easy to use and reasonably effective products you can buy at your local super market or drug store. In this article,I will introduce you to some of the least known acne prevention and product purchase tips to help you find a low cost, cheap acne medicine solution.

Acne Tip #1 (soap with benzoyl peroxide)

Although celebrities like Vanessa Williams will have you believe that Proactiv Solution is the only medicine which can help you achieve a clear complexion, this in not true; there are cheaper alternatives. For example, the key ingredient in proactive acne treatment is Benzoyl Peroxide, which can be found in many other products. One such product is a bar of soap called “Purpose” (also comes in liquid form) made by Johnson and Johnson and comes in a little blue box.

Use the soap to wash away any impurities or pore clogging substances from your face 2 or 3 times daily; this should help get rid of the pimples. If on the other hand you also have minor scars or blemishes, you may consider purchasing a low strength benzoyl peroxide cream which you can gently dab on the blemishes to minimize the scars. On the other hand, if you looking for a good and relatively cheap commercial solution, you should consider buying Acnezine Skin System as an alternative to proactiv, which is a combination of herbal pills (treat acne from the inside) and benzoyl peroxide moisturizing cream (to treat blemishes). It works extremely well and is very easy to use.

Acne Tip #2 (crushed aspirin)

I have heard and read on many internet forums of people recommending using a paste made from “Crushed Aspirin Pills” as a treatment for pimples. It is true that Salicylates found in Aspirin and some over the counter creams will help to eliminate the pimples, but they are too strong and can cause greater damage to the surrounding skin area. The last thing you need is for your skin to become more irritated and get scars. Besides, crushing aspirin does not exactly make a cheap acne medicine. You probably need to crush several bottles, depending on the amount of acne, to get rid of it all.

Acne Tip #3 (moisturizers)

One of the most common complaints among men and women using acne products containing benzoyl peroxide is “Dry Skin”. There are two things you can do to alleviate this situation; you can switch to a salicylic Acid based acne treatment like ClearPores or you can buy a low cost moisturizer.

When buying a moisturizer there are a couple of points to keep in mind. First make sure that it is “oil free” or non-comedogenic, meaning that it will not clog the skin pores. Second make sure it is hypoallergenic, which means that it will produce fewer allergic reactions than others. Nutraderm lotion (buy the original formula) is one moisturizer which fits this description. Also if you wear make up, make sure it too is non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.

Acne Tip #4 (picking and popping)

I’m sure you have heard or read this in other places but I’ll repeat it again, “do not pick, squeeze, or pop pimples). You hands are in contact with many different things and many different people throughout the day and as a result are usually caked with bacteria. Picking at pimples will only help spread the bacteria and give birth to more acne lesions.

Acne Tip #5 (cleanliness)

Someone once said that “cleanliness is close to godliness”. So make sure you shower daily to get rid of the access dirt or oil buildup from the skins surface. You don’t need to over do it either, washing your face twice at most three times per day with a mild soap such as “purpose” by Johnson and Johnson will do the trick. In addition keep the beg linen, like pillow cases and bed spread clean. Dirty linen retains the bacteria which get transferred on to your face or body when you go to bed, so it is essential that these surfaces are clean.

Acne Tip #6 (food)

Although there does not appear to be a correlation between the foods we eat and acne, some people have found that by cutting out iodine (salt) rich roods like potato chips help control acne. Drink 6-8 glasses of water per day to thoroughly cleanse and flush the skin of any toxins and consume a healthy portion of fruits and vegetables.

Acne Tip #7 (strong acne medications)

Products such as Accutane and Retin-A creams are meant for sever acne cases. They work very well at treating large acne lumps such as cysts and killing acne causing bacteria but have many negative side-effects. Always discuss the options with your physician before using such products.

One thing to keep in mind, should you decide to use retinol creams is that they highly increase the sensitivity of the skin to sunlight and therefore recommend for use at night instead of day time.
