The Right cleanser for Acne Skin

medcine for blackheads and whiteheadsThe purpose of any acne cleanser is to remove any build-up of excess dirt, body oil, and bacteria which may have manifested itself deep within the pores of your skin; therefore clogging the tiny openings in the skin and preventing the body form secreting oil and eventually leading to the formation of pimples. How well that cleanser achieves its purpose determines its effectives and ultimately its value. And value is always in direct relationship to how well the product works to treat acne. If you think about it, wouldn’t you happily spend hundred dollars on acne cleanser you know is going to work, instead of spending ten dollars on the one that is not?

There are several types of acne cleanser available. Some of them can be purchased without prescription at the local drug store, while others require authorization from your dermatologist. The ones readily available of-the-counter includes name brands such as: Clearasil; Neutrogena and many others. If you purchase any product from a local drug store, make sure that it is oil free (to avoid further clogging) and that it contains Salicylic Acid, at least 2% (helps to exfoliate the skin better than benzoyl peroxide). The ones prescribed by a dermatologist include drugs such as Accutane, Retin-A creams and cleansers containing heavy dosage of benzoyl peroxide.

Any one of the above mentioned acne products raise three concerns for the purchaser; cost, effectiveness and side-effects. Generally speaking, the cost associated with of-the-counter products like Clearasil is minimal, but so is its effectiveness. You may be making more trips to the store than desired or may waste money on number of products before find the one that seems to work. On the other hand acne cleanser like Accutane is extremely effective, but the side-effects can be very detrimental. Side-effects with Accutane include: liver failure, birth defects, suicidal tendencies and many more. Certainly the risks outweigh the benefits. Where then is the happy medium between cost and benefit?

Having tried quite a few of the products personally, I can tell you that most people are not exactly impressed; either because the product was useless or had made their skins condition worse. From my experience I discover two products which offer and excellent balance between price and effectiveness. If you have experienced similar frustrations or would like to avoid them, I highly recommend your give Clearpores Skin cleansing System or ZenMED Derma Cleanse System a try.
